I am running Windows 7 on my Emachine PC and use Gmail and even have a GMail notifier. [Image attached].

It all works without a hitch except at times when I will click on the "email us" link on some web sites. It then does not seem to recognize any email settings on my PC.

Does anyone have an idea of what the problem can be?

Myles,
The problem is email links are special hyperlinks designed to open the designated program for the task - just as picture viewer opens when you click an image.

When programs are installed they register themselves as the default handler for specific tasks, which is how Windows knows to open links in Internet Explorer for example.

In your specific situation with Gmail there is no email program installed and browsers do not register themselves as email handlers usually.

I've never done it personally (I use Outlook for email) but it may be possible to register the email links to the browser. Which browser do you use?
