I have a 2 big events coming up in the next month. I do not want to make any changes until after "The Ides".
Any thought on the last screen shot?

As I see it from the last screenshot, when you attempt to run CHKNTFS /X C: it is telling you it cannot run and should you schedule to run on the next reboot. it looks like you answered no to that when in fact you should have answered yes and then rebooted again.
I am right so far?

That's the issue. When I schedule a disk check on reboot Upon reboot I get the message that there is an error and cannot do a disk check/repair.

Try to defrag your hard drive and let us know the results. i.e. Does that flag up bad sectors etc?
If you are not sure how to do that click on Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools then Defrag.
