Hello.  One of the Windows updates is creating a headache for me.  Am constantly being asked to Enter my credentials on  .... by pressing the Ctrl-Alt-Del to continue for each program I run.  Not on a shared system and this only infected my laptop.  Any suggestions, Mindblower!

Thanks Richard, but once in Settings, I search for UAC and the only selection is to alter, not disable, Mindblower!

Hey MB,

If you move the UAC slider all the way down to the bottom, that is the same as disabling it.

Also, have a look under Settings > Accounts > Additional settings, under "Additional settings" try turning Off the option to "only allow Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts on this device".

If that makes no difference, make sure to turn it back to On.

Thanks Jim.  Yes moving the slider bar to the bottom does disable that constant UAC, but does it reduce protection.

The other option does nothing so I left it as you recommended.  What I do not understand, the slider bar is at the top on my other Windows 11 desktops without any UAC interference.  Wonder if there is a registry fix, Mindblower!

That's weird. Slider at the very top should equal strict control.

I'm pretty sure the issue you are reporting has something to do with account and sign-in settings MB.

Thanks Jim.  I'm shelving this topic for now.  Just too busy and the laptop is seldomly used.  But would you recommend altering the registry?  As mentioned, this problem appeared after a Windows update, Mindblower!

No, not at this stage MB.

Totally agree Jim.  I mainly use the laptop for watching prerecorded shows, and forgot that I only go on line to update.  I can live with the lower security level having the slider fully down.

Seasons greetings, Mindblower!
