After reading Jim's enthusiastic recommendation of PrivaZer app, I installed it on my Win11 (Ver10) PC using his suggested settings.

Ran the initial scan yesterday and it appeared to clean the system without issue.

Since Weds is update/cleanup day, I reran PrivaZer which did a restore point before proceeding.  When system reopened ALL of my pinned tabs were gone and bookmark/tab bar was EMPTY?!

Do not know how to RESTORE missing pinned tabs...

Do not know where to find what tabs were removed...

NOT happy with PrivaZer!

I'm sorry to hear what's happened.

"I installed it on my Win11 (Ver10) PC using his [Jim's] suggested settings"

Firstly; at no time have I ever suggested settings for PrivaZer. That would be impossible to do because cleaning options are set by each user depending on his/her own preferences.

As far as I am aware, the only recommendation I've ever made regarding settings is to leave them at default.

Secondly; when you ran the first (initial) scan, all your preferences would have been saved in an INI file. Therefore, if the first (initial) clean resulted in zero issues, all subsequent cleans would have completed with the exact same result. The only possible way the result could be different is if the preferences were changed between cleans.

"I reran PrivaZer which did a restore point before proceeding"

Did you try using the system restore point created by PrivaZer to restore the system?

Again, I'm sorry to hear of your issues.

Maybe just semantics but...

"Anyone who is a regular reader of my articles will be aware that I am a huge PrivaZer fan. In this article, I’ll be stepping you through setting up PrivaZer and making a number of suggestions.

I have run PrivaZer twice...

Once after the initial install which resulted in NO issues with pinned tabs or bookmarks.

The second the today with NO change in selected settings but pinned tabs gone.  The RESTORE option in PrivaZer initially had 2 options...same day but a few minutes apart.  Yesterday I ran the most recent restore point which did not correct the issues. Today I ran the "older" restore point which also did not correct issues.  I just rechecked PrivaZer RESTORE and there are NO restore points available.

Latest development is that Chrome will NOT open even tho' APPS shows it being installed, there is a desktop shortcut, and the icon is in system tray?!

Yes, I agree, semantics. The suggestion I made was to leave settings at default/as recommended.

"these options are all set to PrivaZer’s recommendations by default and, in the main, I would leave them as is, with the following notes"

The notes were merely suggestions regarding auto complete histories and cookies, nothing to do with pinned tabs or bookmarks.

As I said, it's impossible for PrivaZer to give different results. Once the user's initial selections are saved to the INI file, those exact same settings remain persistent.

The fact that restoring the system did not correct the issue only serves to indicate that it is not an issue created by PrivaZer. If it was, the restore function would have rectified the problem.

"Latest development is that Chrome will NOT open even tho' APPS shows it being installed, there is a desktop shortcut, and the icon is in system tray?!"

Which indicates that there must be something else going on. I would make the following suggestions:

1) Use an on-demand malware scanner/remover such as Malwarebytes (free version) to check for malware

2) Check system file integrity by running the command sfc /scannow in an elevated Command Prompt (admin)

3) Delete Chrome's existing desktop shortcut and create a new one. Go to C (system drive) > Program Files > Google > Chrome > Application. Now, right-click chrome.exe and select Send to > Desktop (create shortcut).

Once you've done that you can delete the Taskbar shortcut and create a new one.

I hope you can get it sorted.

Update...

1) Chrome issue has sorted itself...but no clue why or how?!

2) PINNED TABS in Chrome have been untouched through this situation!

3) PrivaZer has admitted that the missing tab issue is specific to Firefox!

No solution in sight unless PrivaZer has a hidey-hole where stuff is stashed for Oh S's like this?

4) PrivaZer has notified me that there is NO fix for the missing tabs but will be correcting the deletion issue in the next release;

5) PrivaZer has offered me the PRO version in compensation for my inconvenience (aka grief) but not sure if I want to beta test it with my Firefox?!

Given the PrivaZer deletion of my pinned tabs, is there a way to save pinned tabs to folder/file for recovery in situations like this?

As a Firefox and PrivaZer user who runs PrivaZer monthly using the default settings on all my desktops (running 10)., I have never experienced any glitches and pray this will continue.  The computers do experience glitches every now and then which  are often corrected with a reboot.  Thanks for sharing your experience, Mindblower!

I am happy for you, Mindblower.

FWIW (very little at this point!) PrivaZer has admitted that the Firefox glitch is a PrivaZer problem.  Chrome is fine.
