G'day Folks,

I have been in this IT business for 35+ years and I can tell you that, and be assured that I do not believe in conspiracy theories !!

Windows 10 is the ultimate Spy Tool.

Microsoft has broken so many Laws across all Western Countries, contravened most of the USA and Australian Constitution and have just about broken every Privacy Act Laws in Australia.

Microsoft has become so arrogant that they believe to be above the Law anywhere and believe they are the ultimate power as far as IT is concerned.

This arrogance of Microsoft and their true Masters needs to be severely curtailed !

This is going to be difficult as I believe Microsoft to be under Zionist control to establish a New World Order, which is their publicly known agenda.

The collecting of your personal data and habits is part of creating a Profile Dossier on every person on this planet in order to police any individual.

What Hitler and other Dictators Failed to do "Control the World", The Zionist through Microsoft and Windows 10 are now achieving, World Domination, and I don't refer or mean that it is the Game by the same name.

Be aware and don't use or install windows 10
- There are other Operating Systems that I believe are as good and don't Spy on you or breach the Laws.
- Try Ubuntu Desktop or Server for your computing needs and then there are Office products as good as Microsoft Office like Apache OpenOffice. both are free, yes FREE.

You decide, put up with being spied on or not ?

What is the Sam Hell are you thinking?

It would add much more to the discussion if you included which laws you believe are being broken.

Microsoft has become so arrogant that they believe to be above the Law anywhere and believe they are the ultimate power as far as IT is concerned.

Well, you do have to admit MS is a big player in IT. They got to be a big player by making correct decisions and doing things right, or at least better than the other players. Hey, we could all be stuck on BSD!

This arrogance of Microsoft and their true Masters needs to be severely curtailed !

This is going to be difficult as I believe Microsoft to be under Zionist control to establish a New World Order, which is their publicly known agenda.

And you base this belief on what facts? Hope this doesn't descend into a discussion about grassy knolls and I-beam melting points.

The collecting of your personal data and habits is part of creating a Profile Dossier on every person on this planet in order to police any individual.

You are absolutely correct that companies are trying to create a "profile" on every person they have contact with. This has been true since the dawn of time, but where are you getting the idea that this is for the policing of anything?

What Hitler and other Dictators Failed to do "Control the World",

Of course! Wasn't this a good part of the reasoning behind the Allied participation in WWII?

The Zionist through Microsoft and Windows 10 are now achieving, World Domination, and I don't refer or mean that it is the Game by the same name.

Again, what are you basing this wild assumption on?

Try Ubuntu Desktop or Server for your computing needs and then there are Office products as good as Microsoft Office like Apache OpenOffice. both are free, yes FREE.

You do realize Ubuntu also collects data and has been referred to as spyware by many, don't you? And don't think for a minute that OSX, Android, and iOS aren't collecting data either directly or indirectly.

We live in (of have been living in) an age where we are constantly tracked. Unless one has something to hide, so what? We're all little fish (little guys), and mostly unimportant people on the planet. Want some privacy, use cash, an alias, and stay away from computers, Mindblower! 🙂

I would need a more in-depth analysis of the Zionist conspiracy from the OP before commenting further.

OK, Wikipedia says that "Zionist" means the Jews that want to re-establish their homeland in Israel. Not to take over the world. So lets not blame the Jews for everything, certainly not for what Microsoft does.

On the other side, Yes, Windows 10 is highly invasive and needs to be seriously patched during initial setup, to close some serious Security Holes.

I do this stuff for a living (more or less) and I've set up quite a few PC's with Windows 10 on them. When people go to a big box store and buy a new computer, they don't have a choice of OS, and they would have NO idea at all what to do with Linux, so lets just leave that out of the conversation.

I'm always looking for ways to make Windows more efficient and safer for the user.
So far I've found out how to "Kill WUDO" and permanently disable "Cortana".
If there are more things I should be doing to make W-10 Safer, I hope some kind soul will post it.

I already install Firefox, in place of I.E. and then I install "Startpage(dot)com" in FF as a safer Search Engine. When Google said they would start saving peoples search info for their own purposes, I went looking for a search engine that was SAFE and I found "ixquick(dot)com" which has grown up and become 'Startpage(dot)com'.

If we can all just agree, most of the world is stuck with W-10, and then move foreword to make it as safe and efficient as possible, we can get some serious work done here. Otherwise, it's all just 'Yada, Yada, Yada'. Eh?

Cheers Mates!

Hey TM - Welcome to the forum. Agree 100%, well maybe 98%. 🙂

Yes, Windows 10 is highly invasive and needs to be seriously patched during initial setup, to close some serious Security Holes

Perhaps you could expand on just what "serious security holes" need closing?

Modern computing simply follows the usual system of supply and demand. People want apps, people want to be mobile, and this all requires more and more information in order to function as required.

Don't want or need the apps? Simple, disable or uninstall them. If windows 10 is set up properly, as a pure desktop PC, the level of data collection is no more than in Windows 7 or 8.1.

Anyway, I certainly agree with most of what you have said, especially that last bit... very good!!

"If we can all just agree, most of the world is stuck with W-10"
I can certainly relate to this statement!!!! I have broken my PC several times trying to dual boot W10 with either XP or W7, I am hoping that I have found a solution to that problem, or at least it is working on this PC.
Invasiveness is not so much an issue with me, but the touted Edge browser is and also the way MS wants to promote Bing. So I use Mozilla as my default browser and Google as my HP.
As a desktop PC user I am hoping W10 will become more desktop friendlier but that may be wishful thinking.

98% is OK. Actually more than I would usually expect. 🙂

There have been some very good write-ups on the internet about the security holes in Win-10, and how to plug them. WUDO is a big one, and then there's 'Cortana' that's constantly collecting info about you and what you do with your PC.

WUDO will make your PC a Slave Server for MS, pushing out updates to other users.
That can eat up your bandwidth. I found a good write-up on how to kill WUDO, at "redmondpie(dot)com"

Then there's 'Cortana'. I found several tips on how to disable that, but most of those wound up disabling other windows features too. So with a little experimentation of my own, I found out that just changing/renaming the "cortana.core.dll" file to "cortana.core.ddd" would prevent that .dll file from installing on boot-up, effectively disabling Cortana.

To rename that file, I first had to "Take Ownership" of it.
I use the program "Grand Admin Full Control"* to do that.
* "Grant Admin Full Control" is one of the first things I install in Windows 10 during the initial setup.

It's just in my nature, to try to improve on everything I have to work with.
Windows has always been loaded with so-called "Safe Defaults" and I like to tweak as many of those as I can, for better, faster and more efficient operation of the OS.
I never cease to be amazed, at how many registry tweaks that I used in XP, still work just fine in Win-10. Under the hood, so to speak, Windows 10 is more like XP than most people would ever think.

Sorry, I do ramble on sometimes.

Y'all have a great day now, Y'hear?

(a big smilie)
I'm amazed at how often Bing creeps into my customers PC's and they have no idea where it came from....likewise Chrome. If it creeps into a person's PC and tries to take control, just like a virus, then maybe.......... ???

If you use Google as your search engine, then every search you make is recorded by Google and used for their own nefarious purposes. Not GOOD!
Take a look at "Startpage(dot)com" for a SAFE search engine. You might even like it...I love it. I set the Theme to "Night" for a much more restful screen.

Desktop? I use the "Classic Shell" on every install of Windows 8 or 10, so I can make my desktop look just like XP (which I used for well over a decade)
With the Classic Shell installed, you really need to right click on the Start Button and go into Settings, to customize it to your liking. You can even Shut Off active corners and eliminate Task Bar transparency.

Someone walking in here and looking at my PC Desktop, would have no idea that I'm not running Windows XP. Except that my fully tweaked 8.1 runs faster than my old XP. My new SSD, puts my system in 'Hyper-Drive'. I do love a speedy PC!

Dual Boot? After a horrible problem I suffered with 'Dual Boot' years ago, I said NEVER AGAIN!!!! Now I can run all the different OS's I want to....by just installing each OS on its own Hard Drive and only plugging in the one I want to boot from.
One OS never sees the other OS's. I run four different OS's, each one from its own Hard Drive.
Reminds me of an Old railroading saying, "never the trains shall meet!"

Cheers Mates!

Hi TM
"If you use Google as your search engine"
I do use google search but I could care less about how google records my search history. I use google.com for my HP because the only AD on it is about chrome which I politely refuse.
"Desktop? I use the "Classic Shell"
My wife uses Classic Shell on her W10 desktop and I have installed it on several PC's that I have worked on. I really do not need W10 to look like XP because I still run and use XP on another HD. I use full page start with W10 and all the programs I want to run are just one click away.
"After a horrible problem I suffered with 'Dual Boot' years ago"
I have Dual Booted XP, Linux, Vista, and W7 in different combos and never had any problems, except for ME the user, but when I try this with anything from W8 to W10 then sooner or later something will break.
"by just installing each OS on its own Hard Drive and only plugging in the one I want to boot from."
This is sort of what I do but I only unplug my drives when I install whatever OS I want. I keep my W10 SSD drive plugged into Sata port 0 and it is the default boot drive. If I want to use XP or W7 I just use the F10 key and bring up the MOBO boot menu.

I do love posting answers to questions,,,,, I do know a few, but I also love reading something new, that I can use in my computer business, to make my customer's PC's run better, faster, safer.

This is an interesting topic, close to my heart, but so far I've not read one word from anyone how to make Windows 10, faster or safer.
Or anything about any ONE specific security hole.

Of course I won't use Edge or Bing and I encourage my friends and customers to do likewise. And I kill WUDO and Cortana, but what else is there that needs fixin'.???

With all the angst I read early on, in this thread, I'd think there would be some specifics, as to how to fix the so-called problems (without bashing any religious groups)

I'm sorry, that seemed like a "Bash & Run!" and didn't really solve anything. Eh?
I like to solve problems, but maybe I'm in the wrong forum. ?

Cheers Mates!

HI TM
I really do not understand what you are asking. If you have a specific problem then the informed people at DCT can and will help.
All I can say is that W10 is working for me, but that doesn't mean I like everything about W10, and that does not mean W10 is the only OS I rely on. If a user is going to run the latest Windows platform, I for one do not see a whole lot of choice.

Don't understand what I'm asking? Duh! And here I thought I had a pretty good command of the English language. Oh well, so much for thinking. lol

The threads topic was that Windows 10 is so invasive, or something like that, but so far I've not read ONE Single tip on how to fix anything. Well, actually I read two..... and I wrote both of them. (Kill WUDO and disable Cortana)

C'mon guys! Surely someone here knows how to fix at least one thing in Windows 10.

I've done something I said I would never do, and that is to at least attempt to run Windows 10 Pro as my everyday OS.

I like "Windows Mail",* re-activated, in Windows 10, but the next update from MS may just disable it again, so for now anyway, I'm using OEClassic as my email handler. It works great with GMail accounts. The only negative I've found so far, is that the FREE version only supports TWO email accounts. If you have more than four accounts, then you need the PRO version of the program, for $24.95. That's not bad though, for a really user friendly email handler.

* For those who have not followed the progress of Windows Mail....
In Vista, Windows Mail replaced our old familiar Outlook Express 6.
Then for some ridiculous reason, in Windows 7, 8.1 and 10, Windows Mail is still there in Programs, but it's been disabled so it can't run.
Well, it CAN run, if you remove the files in the Windows Mail folder and replace them with the files from the Windows Mail folder in Vista.
But with the very next Windows Update, it might be disabled again. It's frustrating why MS keeps doing this, instead of just removing Windows Mail completely from Windows 10.

Y'all have a great day now, Y'hear?

Possibly one of the most important settings to reduce telemetry is to set the level of Feedback to basic - it's set to Full by default: Start>Settings>Privacy>Feedback & diagnostics.

The Apps are the most invasive part of the system, if setup and used purely as a desktop PC, Win10 is no more invasive than any other modern operating system, certainly no more invasive than Google and Apple.

Good Info! Thank you!

But where it asks me how much data to send to MS..... there doesn't seem to be any way to say, "Never". That would be my choice, if I were given that choice, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

With all the MS looking over our shoulders, I'm surprised that so many smart guys think W-10 is the greatest OS ever. Personally I'm not getting that impression.

Thanks again!
