Hello all at DCT,

I have realized that DCT members are relative neophytes in computing / Windows OS / Any OS. Please prove me wrong.

I am a contributor to both DCT and AskWoody. I have found that the AskWoody members have much more to offer to those of us who have a moderate or higher understanding of how computers work.

I owe gratitude to Jim at DCT, who was instrumental in my involvement with DCT over a few-year-old thread about Macrium Reflect.

Besides that... I get a hollow echo from most of these threads on DCT .. does anybody know anything here about what actually matters in our daily computing? (i.e. not software "giveaways" or other fluff)

If so.... then challenge me! Tell me I am wrong and back it up with solid data --> otherwise I have nothing to learn here at DCT.

So this is my last stand at DCT - I really like the "vibe" of the DCT forum, but really, it seems that I can't have a solid conversation here (even beyond my LTSC proselytising)

If I should be posting this on another forum subsection, let me know 🙂

Joseph

Hey Joe,

Back in the day, when DCT was merely a fortnightly newsletter, the Forum was buzzing. However, that all changed when we moved to the blog format- the blog took over as the main platform for discussion (via the comments).

Try as we might, we cannot get back to the forum's good old days, even when discussions on the blog are obviously overly complex and much more suited for the forum, we refer subscribers to the forum for further discussion, but it never seems to eventuate.

We publicize the forum at every opportunity but maybe the days of general forums are numbered.

We are certainly open to suggestions,

Cheers mate... Jim

P.S. "proselytizing", nice word, I had to look that one up. 🙂
