This issue is a tough one for me. My "client" has an HP late model laptop. She connects to Wi-Fi everywhere, homes, restaurants, etc. except HER house.
A couple of things to reveal. She has a router sending a 2.4G and 5G signal. Nothing unusual there as I think they pretty much all do that. I have comcast as does she so at least I don't think there is anything tricky there. One of her signals is identified in "available wifi". (Windows 10). The 5G is called Pool, as they have a pool and the installer wanted the pool app on the 5G band. Call the 2.4 Home. The laptop sees the pool band but does not see the Home signal.
I tried deleting the Wifi from device manager but I may have bungled it as I took out something that I thought was the wifi device and rebooted and it didn't reappear, but only to find what was the wifi device manager and does see Pool, so I am sure whatever I did didn't affect the problem. So first I need to know how to restore the Wifi piece, as I have done this many times over the year and it always was a way to clear out the drivers and start again.
Next is this issue of Hidden Network, which shows up in available wifi. I found that Windows has a way of shutting off a signal by not letting it broadcast. I can't find that setting since it might explain why she can't get that signal (Home) in her house but she can get it everywhere else. I further learned that both Verizon and Comcast installed in their routers "hidden network" which is used to get this, use your router to bounce their signal to nearby routers cheaply as opposed to adding another tower! Can't swear to it but it was written in a forum.
