Monitor Display Skewed

Thanksgiving morning, all was fine here. When I returned home that evening, my monitor was displaying a skewed (stretched horizontally) desktop. Everything I tried to view on- and off-line was thus skewed.

I have since searched the internet and found numerous message board posts from others with the same problem -- all of which occurred Nov. 22 and Nov. 23.

I've tried all the "easy" fixes (to no avail) and am loath to go for the more technical suggestions being made. None of them seem to be working for anyone with this problem anyway.

You guys at DCT are wizards in my opinion. Please pick up the scent on this issue and see where the trail leads! Until then, I'm using the square-screen not-so-good-resolution display.

Here's a shot of my desktop as I found it Nov. 23 (top) and how I'm having to view it now (bottom). Help! What's going on?
