Memory dump missing

I'm getting random PC freeze ups and I'm suspecting Opera but I can't be sure until I see a log file.
In system and security, everything is set to default, i.e auto mem dump and the setting is %SystemRoot%\MEMORY.DMP
But no file exists when I search for it, even using search *.dmp.
I'm pretty sure I can resolve the Opera crashing, but I'm puzzled as to why no dump log appears.
Any suggestions?

EDIT
It seems the paging file needs to be on the boot drive. I had set it to another drive to save space, which I've now corrected. Still investigating the crashing/freezing which requires a PC reset.
