I now keep loosing my Wi-Fi Broadband connection, it now only lasts a few minutes before disconnecting. Often the 'diagnose' troubleshooter works to get it back but not always. When I ordered our weekly groceries over the internet I virtually had to 'reset the adapter' for every item in the shopping list --- it is quite a pain.

Following advice I tried changing the setting to Google DNS and thought it had worked, for a couple of days, then was back to constantly re-setting. My driver is shown as being uptodate.

I know it is the computer not the broadband service. When it disconnects I continue to get uninterrupted Wi-Fi on my Windows Lumia phone, so restarting the router has no effect.

Advice would be very welcome.

Have you tried using a usb wifi adaptor on the laptop or PC with the problem?
Are you saying that the Lumia works fine ALL the time?

Do you have cable connections available or is this a wi-fi only connection?

Hi

It is a Wi-Fi connection, and yes the Lumia phone is not affected, it has remained connected throughout (it has been a useful 'life-line' at times).

However, I have been connecting OK to my broadband service so maybe the problem has gone away --- fingers crossed. I have not done anything special, just repeatedly using the troublwshooter and diagnose / reset the wi-fi adapter. It is working now (obviously!) which is just as well as I have been struggling for two hours to get my antivirus re-activated with the help of Chat sessions, which went horribly wrong --- everything I posted got translated to an unknown foreign language, even the characters were altered entirely, so that neither I nor technicial advisor could understand any of it. Very strange.
