Hey Josh,
I'm assuming you have a second internal drive that you use for storing data - so "C" is your system drive and "D" is you data drive - is that correct?
This may seem obvious, but have you looked in the Recycle Bin?
There is also a chance the images may have accidentally been moved. To search an entire drive for any images; open the drive in File Explorer and type kind:picture into the search bar, then click the right facing arrow to initiate the search (see image attached).
If nothing turns up in the results then, yes, you can try a file recovery software.

Yes D is my Data drive where I have my picture videos and documents. I do check them in Recycle Bin but I thought I would remove them earlier. I am not sure about the exact date and time.
Which file recovery software I should try.
Recuva from Piriform is probably the best free option. You can download the installable version from here: https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva/builds
Or a portable version from here: https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/rcvportable.html
PuranFileRecovery also does a good job, you can choose to download an installable or portable version from here: https://www.puransoftware.com/File-Recovery-Download.html
Wise Data Recovery is also worth a try, you can download either an installable or portable version here: https://www.wisecleaner.com/download.html
They are the best of the free options. Hope one of them gets the job done for you Josh.

Download the portable version Josh. You should always download the portable version whenever available. It should work fine with Windows 10, the methodology for recovering data hasn't changed.
Okay, I will go for a portable version. For Now I checked https://www.wisecleaner.com/download.html, Wisecleaner and found it more informative and they offer 2GB free data recovery. I hope I will recover my files for free.
