Hi
Sorry folks . I seem to be having bizzare problems.
I take out a monthly Pdf e magazine for last 1 year. So far it was a breeze. I edited in word and saved as pdf and it was done hyperlinks and all.
But this time , today when saved as pdf, it was saved as pdf but without document hyperlinks.
I have Dell, i3 , windows home 10, and MS office 16 student version. For more than a year I have been doing it, but now it refuses. I have restarted the comp. what to do?
Help needed urgently. My deadlines are looming.
Thanks in advance.
Yes, there are are lots of reports of this issue happening, and only fairly recently.
Try the Print to PDF option and see if that will preserve the links: instead of Save as and then selecting PDF format, select the Print option and under "Printer" select "Microsoft Print to PDF". It won't print anything but will simply save the document in PDF format.
If that doesn't work; suggest you go to Office updates history and look for any recent updates - Control Panel > Programs and Features > View Installed Updates. If you can recall when this issue first started, look for any updates installed between then and now and uninstall any recent updates.
Hope you manage to get it sorted.
I am really frustrated! I tried several free sites online to convert, only a few could convert hyperlinks. those who could, have a limit for free users or like to put a watermark.
I am now migrating to Google doc. I uploaded the file there and downloaded as PDF and it was ALL RIGHT! All graphics, hyperlinks everything !
I am used to word , downloded LIBRE office too to try, but am finding DOC too good. It will take some relearning but worth the effort! Actually I might do all editing in word, and then go to Doc to upload and convert, which will be faster.
Still I would like to find out what happened to Word! is it a window or office problem? Do let me know please when you work it out.
Thanks, for trying! I do depend on you Jim and DCT to bail me out as you have done several times before. God Bless.
Hi Jim
I am totally frustrated.
I tried converting online on several free sites, only a few could do hyperlinks. Those who could had a cap on free conversions and/or used their watermark.
I started looking at alternatives, and downloaded Libre Office. But tried with Google Doc, and it is wonderful. I uploaded the file in the Doc, and downloaded again as PDF. Viola! All graphics, all hyperlinks everything working as it should . So I am sticking to this now. I am used to Word, so will do my editing / compiling there and later convert through Google!
Still, it will be big help if this issue could be resolved. I don’t understand if this is a windows issue or Office!
Thank you so much for trying and replying so promptly. I do so rely on you Jim, and DCT to bail me out as you have done several times before. Big Thank You and God Bless.
Hi Jim and Steve,
