Not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes.
Whenever I run any anti-virus, clean-up type program it wipes my 'Recent Documents' list clean, even those the docs are pinned. This happens with Publisher and Excel as well. Is there any way to prevent this?
Mostly I'm using Advanced System Care as a maintenance/cleaning type program but I'm not sure how to stop it from wiping out my Recent Documents lists! I hate having to start over with that list!

Hi Marci - Apologies for nor responding earlier.
In Advanced SystemCare, there is a group of small icons cross the top, toward the right; from left to right: Like, Quick Settings, Rescue, Skin, and lastly More Settings. Click on the icon for More settings and select "Settings".
Now, from the left panel; go to the "Care" section and click on Privacy Sweep. Scroll down until you see anything to do with Office or Office Application and remove the checkmarks next to all those options, then click Save.
That should do it. If you still lose your Recent Documents list then it must be something else.

BTW: I installed Advanced SystemCare in a VM so I could look into this for you. Everything is very automatic unless you dig down deep into the settings menus. Not a good idea and not recommended. Suggest you stick with something like CCleaner.
I do admit I am not a fan of IObit and their malware... oops, sorry, I meant software. 
Seriously, I am not an IObit fan at all. I haven't taken a look at Advanced SystemCare for years and am amazed at how secretive it is about what it's actually doing. Everything appears to be provided in automatically applied modules. Breaking down those modules, digging down and finding exactly what they are up to, is akin to extracting teeth... at least for Joe Average. I've never been a fan of the combination automatic cleaner/optimization type programs in general.
Yes, CCleaner is a much better proposition, and much safer. Everything is laid out for you in CCleaner, right there in the main interface. You know exactly what it's doing and where it's cleaning, options are right in front of you and easily enabled/disabled. Plus it doesn't promise any magical (mythical?) optimization either.

I downloaded an 'updated' version of ASC yesterday AND the latest CCleaner. Between the two of them ... not sure which had most ... I also got a TON of crapware, got my homepage changed, got a few more toolbars ... well, you get the idea. So I'll will take your wise advice and now begin UNINSTALLING ASC and all the crapware that got downloaded and just use CCleaner. Seems like a simpler program anyhow and yes, UNCHECKING those boxes worked!

LOL. Yes, aesthetics accounts for about 80% of ASC's appeal.
When I installed ASC I noticed the additional toolbar, etc. which was all set to install by default... typical of IObit, not that they are alone in that regard. CCleaner does not install any extras, or change browser settings.
Glad to hear the issue is now resolved Marci, you are most welcome. You've been visiting this forum for quite some time now, you must be one of a earliest members.
