I am having a word document in Tamil. The font used in it does not have a key stroke for single or double quotes. I have to insert atleast in 20 places per page in this nearly 60 pages word document. For inserting a double quote, I have to select the place of insertion, change font, insert it and go to the next place, change font, insert the double quote and so on. This is very laborious and straining. Is there any alternative?

well i do not have a direct help. But here is an quicky.

Switch back to the font where u want to enter the quotes.
Now highlight the exact location where u want to have the quotes.
Switch back to the font where u could enter the quotes.
Enter the quotes and remove the highlighting.
Switch back to the Tamil font to see if everything went perfect.

Hope it helped.

Thanks,
Grr

Which version of Word are you using, that is very important for instructions. Assuming 2003

You could define it as autotext

Or you could simply use cut and paste.
- First turn on the clipboard pane by going to Edit / Office Clipboard
- Select one of the quotes you have already inserted
- copy it, <CTL C>, you should now see it in the clipboard
- move the cursor to the next place you want to put one of the quotes, move the cursor pointer over the quote in the clipboard
- double click on the quote, it will now be inserted at the cursor location
- repeat as needed

Alt + 0147 should insert a double quote for you very easily. Insert one and then simply use your F4 key to repeat your last action on all the other areas. Very easy! Hope this has been helpful to you!
