Greetings

Today I installed an English Office 2010 over a German Office 2007. The default folders for Outlook all remained in German. I was able to reset the main Outlook folders by going to "run" and entering outlook.exe /resetfoldernames. The Archive folders, however, still have the old German names for the "Inbox", "Sent Items", "Deleted Items", etc. I wonder if anyone would know how to change these folder properties.

Thanks

GL

Hi again GL --

Hopefully someone comes up with a better answer for you, but my gut says that these can't be automatically renamed because once they become archive folders they no longer retain the aura of 'System folders', but become just plain ol' typical folders.

If that's the case, I don't forersee any automated tool trying to translate these.

Like I said, hopefully someone has a better answer.

Hi Ziggie

Ah, but in Outlook you can change the names of any other folders as you wish. These folders have the change option grayed out. So they have some special status.

I couldn't figure out how to change them though.

Not really that important I suppose, but I get a bit OC sometimes when it comes to my computing environement.

Not a good solution, but at least of help.

Create a new Outlook Data file and move the contents from German to this new one. Once all moved delete the german data file, and point ur mails to come to new datafile.

Thanks, Grr

Hello Grr

An interesting thought. Export then import. Sounds like it would work. I was hoping for something a bit less intimidating.

No Mam. Just Outlook as a PIM and Email client.

Well thank you for looking. I couldn't find one either. Honestly, it's not a big deal.
