To get movie playback in Ubuntu 12.04 Precise. The ubuntu-restricted-extras or libdvdread4 will have to be installed. Open terminal and run (sudo apt-get install libdvdread4) if the ubuntu-restricted-extras package isn't installed. The command (sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh) will have to be invoked. I can finally watch a movie on my Ubuntu Virtual Machine.Daniel.
