i got a disc borrowed from a friend with linuix mint i got it installed thats about it for thoise who said its a lot like windows you were wrong.i have a Ethernet cable ordered
so i can get it online it says in one place i stumbled upon 168 updates available so i have that to look forward to. does anyone know where the internet settings are or how to get to them, i think i should have wifi but i dont know, i wont need the cord ifi can find that. its loaded on a older Compaq presario 5000

Do you happen to know what version of Mint you installed? Can you be more specific with your machine specs, I.E. whether it is a CQ5000 or a V5000 series compaq.
