Hello all,
New to the forum but not entirely new to computers. 5 years ago I didn't know what a computer was. Now I have 5 in my house. Two are used for running small NC milling machines. We still use XP. I have just recently built a new machine. Core Duo Quad 6600, 775 processor: 3 GB RAM, GFX card for dual montors: 3, 500GB Seagate hard drives: and a wireless connection.

Welcome aboard Terry! I'm glad you're here and I hope to see you around here a lot!

I'm intrigued by the milling machines - what are you milling? Wood, metal? Making anything interesting?

Welcome to the best place on the web! (well, best family friendly place on the web, that is).

Pull up a chair, put your feet up, and dive into the deep end. Just dive shallow, the deep end is still not quite full of it yet.

The milling machines are quite small....the size of a 19" CRT monitor..or so. I am machining plastic parts. The machines read a simple G-Code.
I look forward to partcipating in the Forums.

Plastic. Very cool! I'm not trying to press, but do you make the same specific part or various things. I'm just curious. Everytime I see a milling machine on TV I always think to myself that I would like to have one to play with! Must be the tinkerer in me.

Dave,
Each machine is set up to make a specific part. I can just hit "GO" and 45 minutes later I have 48 perfect parts!!
I have been fortunate over the years to participate in many different types of work. Now in my senior years I am learning about computers and web design.
