Hey Claw - No idea!! I think the system should automatically look through all the Avatar options and grab your Avatar from whichever. There are restrictions on new members which are in place until a certain number of posts have been recorded, maybe it's part of that.
I'll refer this to Dave and he will lead you in the right direction.
