I am 65 and computer addicted. I spend a lot of time writing , replying mails , browsing and trying new free software.
I am also writing hobby e books for seniors about various activities that can be pursued. There are about 10 so far and more in the pipeline.

I am self taught and have seen all versions of windows and DOS! have many other hobbies also and have never any problem of boredom!

I'm around the same vintage and also addicted to computers, so much so that now I write about the infernal machines.
I've been retired for some time now and just can't find enough hours in the day...boredom, what's that??
I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay here. If you wanted to start a thread and tell us more about your e books please do so. I for one would like to hear more.
