Hi again peeps & geeks.

Ok, I have two minor problems at the moment that need solving. I don't know where to post about them so I ended up here.

The first problem is a constant 'warning' I get while online. A box appears that says CONFIRM on the top of it. The text says [i:1urppxrx]"To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier."[/i:1urppxrx] I've looked everywhere in Firefox for that checked or unchecked box that I know is there somewhere causing this annoyance!

The second problem is lately when my sister sends me emails I get like 15 copies of the same email. She says it's not her, but what causes this? Can it be fixed or is it just another quirk of the internet/email beastie?

Hey Marci - I've been leaving this for someone else to answer, mainly because I am not 100% certain of the correct answer to the Firefox issue, but seeing how nobody else has responded, I shall give it a shot:

With the Firefox issue: You will generally get a similar message to that if you are logged on to a site and perform some sort of search, order something, subscribe to something, register for something, etc...then navigate away from that page and then try to go back to it again. In other words; post information on a secure page, navigate away from that page and then try to go back to it again. The message you describe is not ecactly the same though. Could you post a screenshot of the exact message please?

With the multiple emails: There are several reasons why this might be happening. Most common cause is a setting within your email client. Which email client are you using (e.g. Outlook, Outlook Express, etc.)?
There is an option in the account settings to..."Leave a copy of message on server". This should be disabled. Open your email client and go to [b:2myitgd1]ToolsAccounts[/b:2myitgd1], highlight the account name and then click on the [b:2myitgd1]Properties[/b:2myitgd1] button. Click on the [b:2myitgd1]Advanced[/b:2myitgd1] tab and see if that option is enabled. If it is, just disable it, click on [b:2myitgd1]Apply [/b:2myitgd1]and then close out.

Please try that first and post back.

Marci, when you get your Firefox confirm box are you refreshing a page? That message will appear when a page was sent information before it would display (hitting submit on a form or whatever). If that's the case, there is no way I know of to turn off that message, and frankly I'm not sure it'd be a good idea. You could potentially buy something from a site multiple times if you had no warning saying it was sending the data again.

As for email, maybe your sister is hitting send over and over? Maybe she wants to make sure it goes through?

What service do you use / your sister use? Are you both using web based email or something else?

Hi guys!

Well, yes, the CONFIRM message appears when I refreshing or resending a page with information on it, such as when placing orders. Guess it's unfixable huh.

My sister did something with her firewall and her emails have stopped multiplying. It wasn't just me either...her friends all got doubles!

Just wanted to let you know.

This is by far the BEST computer help forum EVER!
