This might NOT be politically correct, but I urge caution if and when dealing with them. A few days ago, I was looking for a DVD player program (yes the free type). I stumbled across this site (they have many interesting looking free software), so I d/l their player. I always like to block internet access when doing a new install (force of good habit), since I hate it when during an install, the program want to call home.

Well, this one was no exception. During the install, you're given several options (like with most programs) and I opted for a plain and simple install of just the DVD player. NO SUCH LUCK. I saw many screens displaying other programs were being installed. Later, not only did they overload me with their propaganda, they also added links to my Desktop. Very unprofessional. Being curious, I decided to give the program a try. Right away, it wanted to check for a newer version. This is totally stupid programming, since I just got the latest from them. They should know it;s the latest (but we all know it's a marketing scheme). Their DVD player is extremely primitive. Trying to play a DVD with language menu at the start, caused the program to stop. It did flash the menu selection screen, but was unable to proceed. Only a simple DVD would play on this program. If you wanted help, you needed access to call home.

The extra bundled programs was like a sneak peak to their other free software. Well, I opted to uninstall the program (using a good uninstaller program to remove the registry junk they installed. Believe I had to uninstall 3 programs in total. all for just wanting to use a simple program.

I do use GOM for everything, but playing DVDs with their menu selection are sometimes a pain. Totally much less than with this BAD experience. So, though this company may have some excellent software, I personally will NEVER recommend them to anyone (friend or foe). This is one product to avoid (at all costs), Mindblower!
