I am need to move to a new PC. I am running Windows 10 and the new PC is also Windows 10. Looking for recommendations on how to move everything from old to new so the new PC looks like the old system.

Hey Mr. Bunyip... love the handle. Welcome to the DCT forum.

The issue with what you are wanting to do is the differing hardware and associated drivers. Unfortunately, this complicates matters no end.

Probably your best bet would be to buy one of the professional image backup tools; Aeomei Backupper Pro or Macrium Reflect Home. Both these programs support restoring an image to different hardware.

What you would need to do is use this software to create an image backup of the original Windows 10 installation and save it to an external USB drive. Then restore that image to the drive in the new Windows 10 machine via the "dissimilar" hardware feature.

I do not know of any way to do what you want to do for free. Sorry.

Just install W10 on the new PC, purchase a W10 Product key and configure your new PC like the old one.
You may even luck out , since you have W10 installed on your old machine, that it may even activate with a digital license. If not then buy a W10 product key. If the new machine can, then install W11.

There are several options for transferring files and settings from an old PC to a new Windows 10 PC. One option is to use file transfer software like EaseUS Todo PCTrans, which is recommended for its ease and speed. Another option is to transfer data via shared folders or Nearby Sharing in Windows 10/11. Additionally, USB cables, cloud storage, email, and OneDrive can be used for file transfer.

Moreover, third-party software solutions like GS RichCopy 360 and Syncback can also be used for data replication, backup, and disaster recovery. GS RichCopy 360 Standard uses multi-threading technology to copy large file collections over networks or to cloud vendors quickly, while Syncback offers advanced backup and synchronization options with its Free, SE, and Pro versions. Both are highly praised by users for their usefulness, versatility, and customer support.

Overall, the best solution for transferring files and settings from an old PC to a new Windows 10 PC depends on the user's specific needs and preferences. However, file transfer software like EaseUS Todo PCTrans, and third-party software solutions like GS RichCopy 360 and Syncback are all viable options to consider.
