Ok a project Gutenberg i download audio books.
this worked fine till yesterday. Then firefox decided to play these rather then d/l.

i had to use open external app ad ie to d/l them.
then found one mirror that was ftp and used firefoxes ftp plugin.

So i,d like to know how to make it d/l instead of play again?

I changed nothing in firefox that i know of recently.

Hey Dave - What are the file types you download from from the site? Which program do you normally use to open them? In Firefox, go to 'ToolsOptionsApplications'.....The Applications window will have a list of file types on the left and associated actions on the right. Look down the list and see if that file type is there....if so, the action will probably be associated with the program you use to open that file. Change the action, in the action menu, to 'Always ask', now hit 'OK' and close out.

If the file type you are downloading is not listed in the Applications window of Firefox please post back.

Oh, okay....I don't really live in a pub...a bit of poetic license there....my attempt at humour.

I actually live in a nice little house in Bundaberg....home of the greatest rum on earth!

cheers and beers......JIM
