Hi guys!
I use Firefox and I was wondering if there is any way or any program that I can use that I can FILTER all the crap I see online! I'm talking about profanity, nudity, violence ... all the usual junk. Not just on websites, but in forum posts and such. Most websites don't even offer a filter option and even if they do it's limited. Google has a search engine filter, but it's only for words, not graphics.
Maybe one of those free parental guardian software programs? I don't have kids at home now but they might help me avoid the crap, eh???
Tired of the smut-O-rama!
Help please!
Marci
P.S. I don't go to trashy sites either, I find trash on respectable sites and forums like amazon, curezone, gardening sites, shopping sites, just general every day informational stuff. Sigh.
Hey Marci - Most filtering systems work on the basis that if a site includes any unwanted content, the [i:1ofkj1no]entire[/i:1ofkj1no] site is blocked. Don't know of any which filter content selectively.
The filters generally work in this way; they offer the user a number of categories to choose from (e.g. smut, violence, obscene language). The user selects the required categories and if a site includes any of the chosen content, access to that site is completely blocked.
Maybe someone else may know different....
Cheers....Jim
