Thought I might try Ashampoo 2016 Backup software. This is where you do all the preference settings, pretty simple here.

This shows the two virtual drives where the backup is stored.

This is where the backup is stored, on my WD Passport external drive.
This software is very easy and simple to use, my only beef is that it took almost 2hrs to backup 160GB from two partitions. The verification took almost 3hrs. I also use Acronis and Easeus and neither one took that long.
One has to mount the drives through the software in order to retrieve any data.
Of course the true test would be if it works if one's PC crashed, for which I am not inclined to test. It is strongly recommended to create a rescue disk.
Would I use this software? Yes, if not just for it's simplicity, in a few more days I will see if it will backup to my file server.
