Last night i fitted a new TPlink adsl modem/router TP-LINK TD-W8968 to replace the very basic one provided by the isp which is a huwaie clone.
The reason i was asked to do this is because their xbox wouldn't connect correctly to xbox live even though internet was fine.
he also has 2 tp link extenders dotted around the house and all internet worked fine on those too
fitted new modem,.set up PPOE/llc username/pword VCI 33 VPI 0 AS ADVISED BY isp over the phone and succeeded to connect to net. tested xbox and vconnected to xbox live...all good.
set up the 2 extenders....all good............internet everywhere and confirmed with client as working.
two hours later no net anywhere and an ip conflict on a pc
i don't have any experience with xbox which i don't think is the issue but i have configured adsl albeit here using the quick setup with success
i really don't know why it should drop off
