This offer has been around for some time now and is still available. Thanks to Member 'Grr' for reminding me:

Win Utilities is a suite of cleaning/maintenance utilities and system tools from YL Software which includes lots of goodies and has a good rep. This from the site:

[quote:1fudihg4]WinUtilities Pro is an award winning collection of tools to optimize and speedup your system performance. this suite contains utilities to clean registry, temporary files on your disks, erase your application and internet browser history, cache and cookies. it also supports to defragment your disk drives and improve computer performance and stability. built-in StartUp Cleaner allows you to control startup programs that load automatically with windows, find duplicate files, fix broken shortcuts and uninstall unneeded software. other features include secure file deletion, recycle bin shredding, system maintenance tasks scheduling and undelete deleted files.[/quote:1fudihg4]

This is the latest full version which is currently available for free (normally $49.99us), visit this page for details: http://www.ylcomputing.com/con.....t/view/351

I installed the program and first time running it asked for registration details. I input the 'regname' and 'regcode' as per the YL Software promotion page and all good.

[b:1fudihg4]UPDATE[/b:1fudihg4]: Since installing this program (via free offer page) some 3 months back, the software has been updated twice to newer versions. On both occasions the application generated a message that updates were available. I downloaded and updated to newer versions without any problems.

ozbloke - I just d/l'd and installed the program and tried to enter the info you suggested.....no luck. It keeps telling me to restart the program after I enter "regname" and "regcode" but upon restarting the program I'm greeted with the same screen that was present prior to entering this info.

Am I doing something wrong? Or, am I simply too late to the party?

Regards,

joseywales

Hey Joseywales - I downloaded and installed this software about 3 months ago and had no problems. The promo page appears to be just the same with the same information, including the bit about it being free....so I doubt you are too late:

regname = Softpedia User
regcode = C1H0L9-20CC-321B-36F7-4117-W6Y1L3

Did you copy and paste the registration details or type them in??

If you typed them in, try copy and paste and see if that does it.

Cheers....Jim

Thanks ozbloke, it worked like a charm!

I can't help but comment on how eerily similar WinUtilities looks like Glary Utilities! You'd think they were one-and-the-same.....is there any connection?

Either way, thanks again.

@Jim - Welcome..

@joseywales - I don't think there is any connection. All products which provide such functionalities would look similar. It could be done to lure you to their product, providing a similar interface.

Agreed, but I'm just saying, if you d/l Glary Utilities (free version) and WinUtilities, the similarities seem too close to assume they're by happenstance. Perhaps I'm wrong.....(but check it out for yourself and let me know your take if you don't mind).

I agree joseywales. They look very similar, and to a first-timer it would look "same".

The interface, button color and background color is also the same.

Josey - Real glad it worked for you mate. I haven't had a good look at Glary Utilities but I will, and make the comparison. Get back to you on that one.

Yes, I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and it appears to function just fine.

Hey Murph - The home site also confirms WinUtilities does support Windows 7. This from the site:
