Win Utilities is a suite of cleaning/maintenance utilities and system tools from YL Software which includes lots of goodies and has a good rep. This from the site:

NOTE: I found the download information on the Softpedia site somewhat confusing plus there have been some comments about the file being v9.4 rather than v9.41 so I ended up downloading the latest version from CNET here: http://download.cnet.com/WinUtilities-P ... ?tag=mncol
Installed the program and first time running it asked for registration details. I input the 'regname' and 'regcode' as per the YL Software promotion page and all good.
If you've ever installed this from a Giveaway of the Day promotion, be sure to uninstall that one from your computer first. Not with Windows' Add/Remove programs applet, either; use something like Revo Unistaller Free http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uni ... nload.html. Then use Crap Cleaner or jv16 Power Tools Lite to scrap out anything Revo might have missed. http://www.macecraft.com/ptlite/
Finally, do Search for any folders, etc., and delete them. [b:1a9lp6om][i:1a9lp6om]Then[/i:1a9lp6om][/b:1a9lp6om] go ahead and install the promo.

My comment has to do with [i:29woirli][color=#0040FF:29woirli]Power Tools Lite [/color:29woirli][/i:29woirli]. Tried it out, and am disappointed this what this product finds, reports, so it's gone (purged).
In a nut shell, it gave me a shore of 100% and 99%. Tried to find what's that 1%, and the information it reported about my registry was total [color=#FF0000:29woirli]bull crap[/color:29woirli]. I've just recently started fresh, so I know there is no such user name in my registry. Did a scan, and was unable to find what this program was showing. Don't want to cause a panic, but use caution ([b:29woirli]maybe even extreme caution[/b:29woirli]) before you try and [i:29woirli]FIX[/i:29woirli] anything this program finds, Mindblower!

Power Tools Lite [i:214eti7z]is[/i:214eti7z] a little opaque in what it does. CCleaner should be plenty, but if you want to take it that extra step, Easy Cleaner is really benign for this kind of work. http://personal.inet.fi/busine.....cleane.htm

I have my preferred utilities in cleaning, but that does not mean my mind is closed to others. Thanks for the recommendations, Mindblower!

@ Mindblower - I do not generally recommend Easy Cleaner because the program does not include any backup function. IMO, that is a serious omission when recommending a registry cleaner for the average user.
That said, Easy Cleaner has proven, historically, that it does not generally create problems. It also includes a list of 'registry values' that must not be cleaned under any circumstances, which is updated from time to time.
Fine for someone like yourself who has the knowledge and the nous to manually backup the registry prior to any changes made but I would prefer software which includes an easy backup function for general recommendation.

Agreed, the lack of a back up feature is surprising, but Easy Cleaner's been around a long time. If the author got enough user feedback about it, he might try to include backups. One of my most-used softwares in this and many, many other instances is Erunt. http://www.larshederer.homepag......de/erunt/ About once a month, I erase the old backups.

When it comes to Registry cleaners or Registry defrags, nothing comes close to this Freeware utility called TweakNow PowerPack 2009 (which as the name suggests contains more than you'd expect). The truly remarkable feature is it's built-in Restore Backup, which keeps a copy of the important stuff, date and time stamped.
