I like Filehippo. I have also used MajorGeeks & years ago I used Tucows. THere are many sites out there that offer Freeware/Shareware but if you aren't careful you get so much more than you baragained for. I say that & not in a good way.

What sites do you use?

Also a friend uses Sandboxie. I have yet to load it, is it any good?

I do directly to the sourse, so MajorGeeks is my usual go to source IF I can't find the original author's site.

I agree with Dave. Go to the source, and if the source leads you to a site you are not too sure of or have had problems with, then MajorGeeks is the way to go.

Both of the sites mentioned are GOOD, and I'm even signed up for the Daily Update from File Hippo.
But, as has been said, you really have to watch out, downloading anything from a source that you're not personally familiar with. Once bitten, twice shy, so to speak.

I do a lot of OS testing, and I really enjoy playing around with OS's that are a little bit Tweaked. For instance, I have at least a half dozen versions of Windows XP, that I've acquired over the years, some of which are really pretty neat. But that's all ancient history now.

But when I've tried to share with others a safe place to download OS's and other (original) software, I've been set down, and my links deleted and called Warez, etc. So I guess I'll just have to keep that really neat place my own secret.

But just for the record, everything I download from that site is 100% safe and spyware free, and NO Warez.

I wish I could be more open, sharing things I know on forums, but alas, that's not the world we live in.

Cheers Mates!
