I am looking for a really safe uninstaller. I am currently using Revo---but have read a few bad reviews----Just wanted to know if there is a better one out there for a novice to use. Thanks ValM.

Hi ValM - "Bad reviews" for Revo Uninstaller??? I am truly amazed. Revo is universally recognised as the best freeware uninstaller available!!

The [i:3csellaa]safest[/i:3csellaa] way to uninstall something is via the application's own built-in uninstaller...most include one. On the occasions when no built-in uninstaller is available, just uninstall from....Control Panel->Add & Remove/Programs & Features. These are the safest methods but both are generally going to leave you with leftovers.

Revo always uses the safest method anyway...i.e. the application's own built-in uninstaller (where available) but goes a step further by searching for and identifying those leftover entries, which you then have the option to also remove. If you leave Revo's settings at default then Revo is quite safe...it's only when less experienced users mess with the settings that they can run into trouble.

Most other freeware uninstallers do no more than the native Windows uninstaller anyway.....that's why Revo is generally considered the pick of the bunch.

HTH
Cheers.....Jim
