Hi folks
Have been using the above program with Win 10 Home for sometime now. However after the last windows update I have found that when I startup my computer tseveral of the small icons on my desktop have moved from therir usual place. I have put them back in place again but it makes no difference as on the next startup the same thing happens. Not all the same icons move each time. Can you suggest a solution at all to what's becoming a very infuriating problem? Thanks for your help.
Kind regards
Gerald

Try this Gerald:

Right click on the desktop and select "Personalize".
Click "Themes" (in the left hand column) and then click "Desktop icon settings".
In the new window that opens, uncheck the option to "Allow themes to change desktop icons".
Click "Apply" then "OK".

See if that works for you.

Hi Jim

Thanks for reply re problem but your suggestion which I have tried makes no difference whatever. The icons are still all over the place on startup. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Gerald

I do not use Start Menu X, but probably what has happened is that Start Menu X is set for your default File Explorer, and it probably does not control the desktop icons placements. You might try and set default back to the Windows File Explorer and or uninstall Start Menu X.
