Here are some new and/or interesting freeware products I have come across during my daily forays around the usual sources. There may be something here worthy of your further investigation:

The Loginizer[/url:2si5plfw] - [quote:2si5plfw]Keeps track of ID's (usernames) and passwords for logging into websites, networks, and online banking. Can export listings as Excel spreadsheets, web pages, printed documents, and more. ID's and passwords can be automatically transferred to login screens. Listings stored on your computer are encrypted. Master password unlocks all your listings. Completely FREE... No ads... No registration... No fees.[/quote:2si5plfw]
The Loginizer sounds like it could be a really useful addition but I was a little disappointed there wasn't a portable version available and so emailed the author (Kenneth Zollo) to ask why The Loginizer required installation and was not portable; here is a copy of Kenneth's reply:
[quote:2si5plfw]One of the Export options of the installed program is the creation of
a Mini-Reader, a single file composed of a stripped-down version of
the program with the data incorporated into the executable. This file
can easily be carried with a user and run anywhere.

The reason for installation of the main program is that it requires a
couple of auxiliary support files (Visual Basic dll and ocx, to be
exact) to be deposited in the System folder.[/quote:2si5plfw]

Back4Sure[/url:2si5plfw] - Simple, easy to use backup software: I've never been all that fond of the traditional backup software which tends to store backups in a proprietary format. If things go wrong, that can make recovery quite difficult. If you do not wish to backup the entire machine, just important personal data folders, then Back4Sure would be an excellent choice. Back4Sure simply copies the files and directories you specify from one drive to another; it runs under Windows XP and above and is a comparatively small download.

An optional zip compression component allows you to compress files on the fly. Backup job settings can be saved so any future backups can be created with just a single click. Back4Sure ignores files that haven't been changed, so all subsequent backups are also very fast; and because the backups are simple file copies the PC can restore them with no extra software/features required......restoration is just a simple matter of drag 'n drop.

FILEminimizer Pictures[/url:2si5plfw] - Is not so new but I believe it has only fairly recently been made available as freeware. I realise there are already plenty of options for compressing images but this software is [i:2si5plfw]the[/i:2si5plfw] best. Why? Because FILEminimizer achieves maximum compression with minimum quality loss:
[quote:2si5plfw]FILEminimizer Pictures is free software to reduce the size of your images, photos and pictures by up to 98% through our native file optimization technology. After compression, your photos and images are still in your image format and are still beautiful - but a lot smaller in size!
