Hi Jim
Thanks again for all your help in the past. Here is another recent problem I've had. As Microsoft has decided we must move to their new mail facility called MS Mail I was wondering if you've come across any helpful articles describing the transition.
I have been using Windows Live Mail for a good while and as I have a variety of email accounts I used them under this banner and they worked perfectly.
Have been having problems with Hotmail and Outlook mail especially. With regards to the former the transition was OK but Hotmail has failed to transfer all of the folders I was using with it and those that did transfer are not complete. Outlook has been a bit of a nightmare as it refuses to fully transfer as well. Both of these also fail to transfer any remaining mail items to MS Mail.
This is the first time I've ever had a problem with the transition of email accounts. In the past when I was forced to do it the process worked perfectly and completely.
I would be glad to have your thoughts on this matter and whether it would be better to move to another email provider altogether. Hope this makes sense.
Kind regards
Gerald
Gerald, I just left my Hotmail emails coming through Windows Live Mail. You need to change the server in the account details to POP3.
Highlight your Hotmail account and click on Accounts from the top menu. Now click on Properties (just under the top menu) and click on/open the Server tab. Change the Server URL to pop3.live.com
That should do it.
