Here is a nifty little tool which will locate and recommended the fastest DNS service for you, personally. Namebench runs a number of benchmarking tests and presents you with the results and recommendations:

I have been using OpenDNS and Namebench located a DNS server is Sydney Aus which it reported to be 62% faster. Namebench also provides all the DNS settings for the recommended server.

angelicscar - The warning was not about the software....the download and the software are perfectly safe.
Ziggie's warning was in regards to acting on the advice supplied by Namebench and actually changing your DNS server/address, without checking it out properly beforehand.
There is absolutely no risk involved in downloading and running Namebench,
