Hello,
Just, a little confused here. If you have visited this site several times before, then just choose from the bottom buttons the option that says, "This site is safe- I want to rate it" to have your say in the rating of this site. For accessing the site just simply choose the right button -"Ignore warning and go to the site." Is this the problem that you are asking help for?
You may simply disable Wot if you are still experiencing problems but this it will weaken you future web search protection. So re-enable Wot after visiting the site you believe is safe to visit.

Hi:
Thanks for replying. I'm also a little confused. The site mentioned is JZIP not the MERRILL LYNCH site.

Thanks,

David

Hi David,
Jzip is a free alternative for WinZip. The site is a clean site in my opinion as I had been using this software several times. However, you are being redirected to Jzip. Try cleaning your browser using ccleaner. If you are still redirected than restore your browser settings to default. There are some tutorials on internet for all browsers. If cleaning does not give you the positive results you might be infected with some spywares. Malwarebytes free or SuperAntiSpyware free will do the task for you. I am not a savvy beyond this point, probably the moderators will jump in any time you will need another level of advice.
Post your results after this steps and surely somebody will try to help you fix the problem.

Hey David - search.jzip.com is a very bad site - do not bypass the WOT security warning and do not visit that site.

Have you visited the Merrill Lynch site previously without problems? Are you clicking on a link to Merrill Lynch saved in your bookmarks/favorites?? If so; is this happening only when you click on the Merrill Lynch bookmark or is it happening when you click on other bookmarks too. What happens when you first start the browser, is your home page still displaying okay?

If yes, try this: Open your browser, type [b:1bgb5khk]Merrill Lynch[/b:1bgb5khk] into the search box and hit [b:1bgb5khk]Enter[/b:1bgb5khk]. Can you now get to the Merrill Lynch Log-in site from within the search results?

Have you recently installed any new programs, anything with 'jZip' in the title?

Let us know please.

Ciprian is correct - this could be a browser redirect caused by malware. We'll have a better idea after you answer the above questions.

Cheers mate...Jim

Hi guys,
my bad it was searchjzip not jzip. Yes, very bad site indeed. I found an article that helps you manually remove jzip <[color=#0040BF:9jy2mx3y]link removed by moderator[/color:9jy2mx3y]> There is a recommendation for SpyHunter as well. I would still go for any of the above mentioned (Malwarebytes or SuperAntiSpyware) since it is mentioned that SpyHunter free will only detect the spyware and not remove it. You might have a tool bar called Jzip as well. Check your Toolbars as well- Tools>Mannage Add ons>Toolbars and Extensions and reset/ remove any possible Jzip trace.

Ciprian - Sorry mate but I had to remove the link you provided - the site you linked to is rated 'RED' by WOT.

Hi Mate:
I've done all that you have suggested as well as removing all traces of Jzip and reinstalling WOT.
The Merrill site is the only one I have trouble with.

I now get the attached results.

Cheers,

David

Hey David - Are you getting that message for every site or just for the Merrill Lynch site??

Are you able to open your home page? If so, type "Merrill Lynch" into the search box and then navigate to the site from within the search results - can you get to the site that way?

Cheers...Jim

Hi Mate:
Yes, I can open the home page. I tried what you are suggesting and I can get there sometimes. I've called Merrill Lynch and they are working on it.

If I'm causing too much confusion I'm sorry. It is all very puzzling to me.

Cheers,

David

No problem at all David.

Maybe the bookmark link is now corrupted, because of search.jzip's influence.

Try this: Right click on the existing Bookmark for Merrill Lynch and select 'Delete'. Now navigate to the page you want, via search results, and when the page has loaded create a new bookmark.

Hmm, well it's all becoming very puzzling to me too David!! LOL

Strange that Merrill Lynch is the only affected site/page - seems to suggest a problem at their end rather than anything on your machine.

The main thing is to make sure you have gotten rid of all traces of search.jzip.com., and scans through MBAM, SAS, etc are coming up clean.

You might also like to perform a registry search for any entries relating to jzip. If you want to do that and are not sure of the procedure, get back to me and I'll post a guide.

Cheers mate...Jim

Hi Mate:
Well, I'm at work right now. I tried reaching Merrill from this computer and had no problem????

I've done all the scans. Nothing there.

I would like to do a Registry search. Can you please post the guide.

Thanks,

David
