Hi, my computer background is nothing formal, basically self taught. I am a retired sales manager who worked for a large multinational chemical company in Canada. I became interested in computers back when Commodore 64 was the newest and greatest. I needed something to allow me to produce a business letter from home when I was a sales rep on the road. Gradually through an XT with DOS, to Win 3.1, to 98 and then migrated to where I am now using a 3 computer home network on XP. Between my son and I, we do all the tech support, using the web for information and knowledge. This site and forum have been an invaluable asset for me, as I read about others who have experienced my problems, and often get the answer I need without posting. I basically know just enough to make me dangerous on the computer. I won't back down from a computer problem, but I also don't go looking for them. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, is how I approach computers. So thanks to all those who are so much more knowledgeable than I, for sharing their expertise so readily here. It make me look good!

Hi all... Have been using computers since computer HD's had only 25mb, have withdrawals when it breaks down.
But enough about me. Here is a 80+ year old Seaman's poem:
There was an old Sailor who had a wooden leg,
He had no tobacco when tobacco was to beg.
There was an old Tailor who was cunning as a fox,
and always had tobacco in his old tobacco box.
Said the Sailor to the Tailor, won't you give me a chew?
Said the Tailor to the Sailor, I'll be danged if I do,
If you be like me as cunning as a fox,
you'll always have tobacco in your old tobacco box.
The Glary Utilities Pro looks like a good one !
I could cut-n-paste the replies from lots of people on here because I've never had a collection of utilities as complete as Glary's. I've always tried to find the best individual program to do whichever chore needs doing because all of the all-in-one boxes have never done all things well. From what I've heard here I think the hunt is finally over.
Hello,
I'm new to this forum, but happy that I found it. I would say I'm pretty computer literate, though my friends/family think I know it all because they all come to me for help, LOL. I have a fairly new desktop PC and recently also purchased a new laptop and netbook. I've just started setting up my network and am researching utility and other programs to decide which to use on all my new PC's. I've heard of Glary before and have seen it recommended in some PC magazines and now seeing this contest....it would be great to win a copy! I know that if I won one, and found it awesome and extremely useful, I would sure recommend it to all my friends/family!
Thank you to Dave's forum as well as Glary Software for offering this contest!
I use DCT to educate myself to operate 2 desktop and 1 laptop PCs. The two desktops are on Win 7 while the Laptop is still on Win Vista. I have the two desktops connected by KVM and local network. This is one of my hobbies but still needs improvement. I'm in the process of progressively introducing wireless connections wherever I can. My KVM shares a monitor, a keyboard, but won't share the same wireless mouse. That's one of my current challenges. It seems like I always one or more issues open. I consider it all part of the education process and am gratified when I can find a fix for such problems. I admit to being part of the over-the-hill gang and therein lies another challenge.[/color:3ac9ab31][/size:3ac9ab31]
