At 1.57MB, this is substantially larger than Folder Size. It's available as an installer or a USB U3 version. Last updated in Sept. '09, it supports Win 2K to Win 7. Just as easy to use as the smaller utility and more actively in development.
TreeSize is new to me, but I like it. Folder Size is mature; it just works. As always, ymmv.

All in all Ron, I reckon I like your 2 suggestions the best. Scanner is worthy of consideration though for basics, it's tiny and portable too.
