What was your favourite freeware for 2010?? What freeware really impressed you; was it an upgrade of an old classic, a brand new release with that WOW factor, or just a nifty little app that has made your life a little easier?
Here are my choices:
1) [b:16w1zrua]Microsoft Security Essentials[/b:16w1zrua] - It's not often new freeware gains such quick acceptance and that is particularly true of anti-virus software; it's been quite a while since new AV freeware has made such an impact. The fact that a new AV product has universally garnered very favourable editorial and user reviews is a rarity too.
2)[b:16w1zrua] Revo Uninstaller[/b:16w1zrua] - Places second simply because it continues to be the absolute standout in the free uninstaller (for the average user) stakes and really has no peers.
3) [b:16w1zrua]Sandboxie[/b:16w1zrua] - While others turn to bloat to help enhance and popularize their software, the Sandboxie developer continues to keep this software simple yet very effective. There may be more versatile virtual environment freeware around but nothing to compare to Sandboxie's ease of use, and none any more effective.
[u:16w1zrua]Most Improved:[/u:16w1zrua]
[b:16w1zrua]Auslogics Disk Defrag[/b:16w1zrua] - The addition of much needed features has vastly improved the efficacy of this popular defragger. With new features to Optimize the hard drive plus consolidate free space, Auslogics Disk Defrag is (IMO) the most improved freeware of 2010.
[u:16w1zrua]One with Potential[/u:16w1zrua]:
[b:16w1zrua]Soluto[/b:16w1zrua] - Is billed as
