I have installed IE9 but it is causing me nearly as many problems as I had with IE8. For instance I can not log in to this forum through IE9. I put in username and password - I am told I have logged in and then I am thrown back to login page again without being logged in. A couple of other sites I view for results - web page with info from back-end database server- I get page header and other parts of page but no data. I did not have these problems with IE8 and I can view/login to above pages with no problems using Google Chrome and Firefox.
Has anybody struck any problems like this and have you found a solution?

I've toyed with IE9 since it was released and haven't had any problems here on DCT or other sides. There are two things you can try...
1. At the bottom right of the [url=http://www.davescomputertips.com/forum/index.php:2rjf059r]DCT forum index[/url:2rjf059r] you will find a link that says "Delete all board cookies". The login process uses cookies in-part to authenticate the user. Deleting the board cookies should let you start with a clean slate.
2. IE9 (and IE8) have a functions called "compatibility view" which forces the browser to render pages as if it were IE7. If you look directly to the right of the site address there is an icon that appears as a page that has a horizontal tear through it. Clicking that icon enables compatibility view.
Give the first option a try for DCT and try the second option on your other sites and see what happens.
Thanks Dave - did both your suggestion but still have same problems. I had also removed all IE add-ons previously when problems started with no success. So now I am looking for more suggestions.

I have now removed IE9 Beta and installed IE9 RC. Most of the problems I had with IE9 Beta have disappeared but I find I am having problems loggin on to some sites - taking too long. In some cases it says I am still logging on and I find I am logged on but have not got logged on screen back. I have waited to see how long it might take but gave up after 1/2 hour. I think it is a case of sites upgrading for new IE9 but the site work normally in Chrome and Firefox V3.

That's interesting. I wouldn't wait 1/2 hour for anything on the web!
I've ran the RC since release and haven't experienced any issues and I can say the same about Firefox 4 RC. Nothing really to complain about with either.
I would use CCleaner to delete all the temp files from IE, reset IE to defaults, and disable any Add-ons listed in the tools menu. If you are still having problems after that you have a much more serious problem.
