Address bar problem in Internet Explorer

Hi all:

I have run across a problem concerning Internet Explorer, in which, when you type an address in but leave off the "http://www" it will not automatically put that in an go to the site.

If "http://www" is typed in with address it works fine. If you type just "www" with the address it will not work either, only if you use the "http://". I'm sure there must be a setting somewhere that will cure this, but for the life of me I can't find it.

Does anyone have any suggestions??

Ummm...use Firefox?

First, I'd try running IE without add ons. From the Run menu run "iexplore -extoff" and see if the problem persists. If it does not, then you have an add-on (or two or three) in IE that is causing the issue. Check toolbars, spyware, etc, etc.

Hi Ziggie:

I run Firefox for myself, however, this is someone else. Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a try and let you know.
