Hi guys!
My windows update shield alert icon in my system tray won't GO AWAY!
I have clicked it and installed the files like 10 times or so and it keeps on appearing in the system try saying I need to install the updates!!!! I've also rebooted the computer several times too.
How do I get rid of or turn off the darn thing????

Are they the same updates every time?
There's an easy way to ignore them if they are, and an easy way to fix it if they are not.
If they are not the same updates, this means you have new updates to install (easy, right?)
If they are the same updates (it happens) uncheck the box next to each of them, then hit close. It will ask if you want to be reminded of these again later (or something close to that). Tell it no, they go away.
Make sure they're really the same updates though.

Ok, I did it again and it still appeared saying I had updates. They were the same exact updates.
I just turned off the Automatic Updates for now.
I guess I'll just try to remember to check updates every few weeks or once a month or something.
