PANDA USB and AutoRun Vaccine.

An interesting new security tool from Panda which allows users to easily vaccinate their PCs in order to disable AutoRun so that no program from any USB/CD/DVD drive can auto-execute. Plus on individual USB drives to disable AUTORUN.INF file which permanently blocks an innocuous AUTORUN.INF file, preventing it from being read, created, deleted or modified and so disabling Windows from automatically executing any malicious file that might be stored in that particular USB drive.

I would not suggest installing this security app just yet....it's early days and there are some shortcomings:
1) Although the vaccination is reversible on PC, as yet there is no way to reverse the process on USB drive...other than a format.
2) Currently works only on FAT and FAT32 USB drives (although that would include most)....NTFS support is on the way.

Fixes for the above and other improvements are in the pipeline....one to keep an eye on. Sounds like it would be a very good addition to the arsenal to me....any comments/advice Ken??
