I do not ever remember setting a password to enter the Bios. Tried several passwords which all failed. Would removing the battery clear the memory allowing me the much needed access, or something else, or I am locked out? Thanks, Mindblower!

Hi MB!
Removing the battery should do the trick but it will also reset every setting to factory default. You will have to change the settings again to how you want them.
Remember to unplug your computer before you begin.
If you are the only person who has access to your machine, I would skip the BIOS password.

Richard. This is a newer computer. I am slightly confused. Found the exert below. Which method should I use, Mindblower!
- Remove and reinsert the complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) battery. In older devices, the BIOS password is stored in CMOS memory. ...
- Use the BIOS reset jumper method. ...
- Short the electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) chip pins."

OK, you will want to find your manual. To reset the BIOS, you need to cross two pins on the motherboard.
You can use a screwdriver to cross those pins or you can use an unused jumper on the motherboard to do that. Images and instructions should be included in the motherboard manual.
Take your time. This needs to be done accurately.

Hi Richard. Did not know manuals were still issued with new computers. Purchase my computers from Amazon. No manuals, no drivers, just hardware. Guess I am out of luck. Acer support is almost non existent, though I do love their computers, Mindblower!

You should be able to find a manual specific to your hardware online.
Be careful, though. Many sites that offer free manuals are also security risks.
I can't believe you didn't get a manual with your computer. Are you sure there isn't one available to download on the Acer website?
