Hey guys. I know that ALYac security and Roboscan are the same programs by ESTsoft just under different names. They both also use the same Tera and Bitdefender engines. I'm in the process of testing Roboscan, and so far it is very, very light on resources and there's no PC slowdown or lag of any kind, and it seems to stop everything I threw at it so far. What I need to know is if anyone here has any experience or dealing with this program, other than when I see ALYac (Roboscan) listed as a program used by Virus Total ?

I haven't personally had any experience, nor have I seen it installed on anyone else's PC.

Hey Dave. The home page seems to be outdated and the program looks like it is abandoned but the engines and definitions keep updating as normal, and their support is non existent. I was giving it a try on the recommendation from a friend. It seems to be a light, fast, competent antivirus, but at the same time, even Google can't find much on it.

Hi Claw
I for one have never had any experience with this software, I use good old CCleaner and the "mrt" command to scan my PC. Hope it works but I would use caution.

Never had any first hand experience with Roboscan either. Haven't come across any discussion relating to Roboscan, nor have I heard of anyone using it.

The following review from PCMag is a bit old (2012) but, from what I can gather perusing the Roboscan site, I'd say it would be fairly accurate: http://au.pcmag.com/roboscan-internet-security-free/1547/review/roboscan-internet-security-free

There are also a number of favorable user reviews on download.com, however, I wouldn't be putting too much faith in those.

Hey dandl, I'm pretty safe with my surfing habits, I use my common sense because I know that some of us are our own worst enemies. Hey Jim my old friend, hope everything's good for you and your lady. I know about how outdated the Roboscan site is, and I heard that its clone, ALYac is still going strong in other countries. That is the reason I was trying to find out about Roboscan, like you said, there are some favorable reviews, but nothing recent, and it's on my computer right now and just updated a few hours ago. I think I'll just abandon this testing until I can find something out. I'll keep you guys informed. Thanks.
