Recently had a problem plugging into a USB port on the computer. It worked before and all of a sudden it did not, the device I was plugging in. Took the device to another computer and it worked, Then in a flash, I remembered there was an article that I might need to use a different USB port. That solved the problem.
So, do not give up, just try another port, Mindblower!
