I have an older eMachines Desktop PC model EL1360G which has a 200 watt power supply.
I would like to upgrade it to at least a 400 watt power supply.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to where or what I should buy? I watched a few videos on youtube on how to do the replacement but how do I know all the plugs on the new unit are the same and will fit? Because if they don't, I'll be more confused than I already am.

Hi Myles,

It's likely that a new power supply unit will require some sort of cabling adjustments to fit the computer's hardware configuration. However, that's not too difficult to achieve utilizing adapters and extensions.

Unless, of course, you happen to come across one specifically designed for your particular computer. Here's a site which lists lots of PSUs for different eMachines models: http://www.atxpowersupplies.com/emachine-power-supplies.php. Unfortunately, your particular model doesn't appear to be listed but you may find something close.

Hi Myles
I have used this Antec VP-450 in several HP, Dell and E-Machines. It is an ATX Model 450 watt. The size is 5.9x5.5x3.5. I usually buy mine through Amazon .com. The last time I bought one it was selling for about $38.00. It will probably have more power connection than you will ever need. I know it has a 24 pin motherboard connector but it will also fit the 20 pin connector. Daniel.
