This past weekend my wife and I had the opportunity to visit the [url=http://www.exoticfelinerescuecenter.org/home.html:3urkdqtc]Exotic Feline Rescue Center[/url:3urkdqtc] in Center Point, Indiana for our second time. The EFRC is a wonderful place that provides unwanted and/or abused exotic cats a place to live out their lives in peace without fear. They've accept cats from all over the US and have some horrible stories of abuse and the conditions these beautiful animals came from. The center provides food, water, enclosures, stimulation, and excellent health care. Parts of the center are open to the public as a means of educating the public and raising money to care for the animals. The staff and volunteers are awesome and many drive hours each way to help at the center.

This trip was quite a bit different than the last. I had arranged for us to stay onsite as a gift for my wife's birthday. From our doorstep there were big cats within 10 feet. At dusk and dawn you could hear the lions roaring as if we were on our own African safari! The general public is only allowed into the main area with around 90 cats. We were afforded the opportunity to visit the restricted sections and view all 233 cats including a lion, Cubby, who had recently undergone surgery in the onsite animal clinic.

I thought I would share some of the many pictures I took during our stay. I am not a photographer by any means. My interest was spurred by Ron Moore almost a year ago and I'm slowing learning (very slowly). All pictures were taken with a Canon T2i and 55-250mm lens. All animals are behind a fence and I did my best to "shoot through" the fence, so if you an areas (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) they are from the fencing and due to my lack of lenses and ability. My Wife posing with Dusty, or is it Dusty posing with my wife? Either way, I think they're both happy.

OK, maybe not so ferocious.

Hi Dave,

I just visited the Exotic Feline Rescue Center myself - nah!, just the site. A lot of interesting stuff there, I wish I could visit the real place.

And great photos.
May I express my honest opinion? Yes? Thank you!
Stick to the ones with the animals in them, you do have an eye for living, breathing subjects - 1st in your 2nd post (no label), Raaaaarrrrrrr!!! & Just kidding!, 2nd in your 5th post (no label), Take me home... Please: just to name a few of my favorites.

Thanks for the gallery,
Cheers

P.S. Is it ok to download some of these?

Aren't you naughty, Jim!!
Truth is I noticed myself how pretty Dave's wife is, but didn't think it's appropriate to comment on her on a public forum.
