Hi, I have a Kogan (Benq) android smart phone and just purchased a SanDisk usb 16gb flash drive for transferring data from phone to computer. It has a standard usb on one end and a phone connection on the other. If you "google Sandisk usb dual 3.0" you will see it.

Its a great concept, but it wont work. I plug it in to my phone and it wont show up in as storage. It shows up on my computer ok though use usb. Any ideas will be appreciated. Go easy though as this is the first smartphone I ever had 🙁

I can only relate to you and our LG smartphone. I had to go to the LG website and download and install an updated driver before I could transfer any data from phone to PC. You might try the phone manufacturing website and check on an updated driver. Sorry I could not be much help but maybe someone will pick up on this.

Hi SM - What I know about smartphones could be written on the back of a postage stamp. However, after a little research, it seems that a feature called OTG (On The Go) needs to be available and enabled on the phone in order for it to recognize the USB device.

Go through your phone's settings and see if you can locate anything relating to OTG - if so, switch it on. If not, you may need to get in touch with the manufacturer (or retailer) to find out if the phone is OTG enabled or not.

Thanks guys... looks like Jim is right. Cant find anything about OTG in the manual, on the phone itself, or even on their website.

Bummer... thanks for the help.

Attach it as MTP and it should be fine to recognize the usb.
