My Lenovo android tablet is 3yrs old so I reckon it must be near the end of its life.
I have no idea about the tech inside it as I am too old to work out how mobiles work!
When I purchased it I was heading on a 4mth car trip through outback Australia so I attempted to set it and my phone to hotspot, blah, blah.
However, the tablet had trouble seeing the plug-in san discs I wanted to use as memory drive since the tablet was small in that department.
In the end, I got sick so I never went on my trip so I never solved the memory issues with the tablet.

Now I want to backup what is on that tablet including text docs and photos along with some browsing history and links.
How can I do this?
My choice in computers are both laptops with limitations, 1 older Asus ROG W7 that will struggle to understand android I think although it now has SS drives in it; and a much newer but smaller and simpler HP W10 laptop which most likely won't have any sort of software to converse with the android.

Or shoud I just get another san disc of maybe 32gB and try to load everything onto that?
Cheers and TIA

Hi ClissAT,

You can quite easily transfer data such as documents and photos from an Android tablet to a PC. I would suggest using the HP W10 laptop. Connect the tablet to any USB port and Widows will treat it as an external drive - if it doesn’t pop up as a drive straight away, pull down the notification shade on your phone, then expand the notification that says something like 'Charging this device via USB', tap for more options, and select 'File Transfer'. Once it's connected successfully, you can then drag and drop the contents of the DCIM, Documents, and Music folders from the tablet to a suitable location on the laptop's hard drive.

The browsing history and links are more problematic. Your best best is probably to use the browser's sync feature. Assuming you are using the Chrome browser on the tablet, that will also need to be installed on the laptop. Then, use the browser's sync feature to sync history, bookmarks, passwords, etc. across both browsers: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/165139?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en&oco=1

Hope that helps.
